The Indiana Rare Earth Recovery Council is scheduled to meet this Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Indiana Statehouse.
The council was established by Governor Mike Braun to spearhead efforts to reclaim rare earth elements and critical materials from legacy coal byproducts.
Because Indiana is a top coal-producing state, the council aims to position Indiana as a strategic domestic source for these materials, which are essential to modern technology and currently dominated by foreign imports.
