A Michigan City man is in custody following a burglary at Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets early Saturday morning.

Police say dispatchers received a burglar alarm alert just after midnight at the outlet mall.

Officers responding to the scene found the front window of the Columbia Factory Store shattered. After entering the closed store, officers located 59-year-old Rodney Cooper attempting to hide beneath a clothing rack.

He was taken into custody without incident. Cooper was transported to the LaPorte County Jail where he is being held on a $15,000 bond.
