Congressman Bill Huizenga is asking the U.S. Postmaster General for answers about mail-delivery problems in parts of west Michigan.
Huizenga says his office began receiving complaints in 2023 after the Postal Service realigned sort and delivery centers.
He says issues are now being reported again, especially in the Kalamazoo area, and his office plans to send out a widespread call for information from constituents.
State Representative Julie Rogers recently told Huizenga’s office her constituents have reported irregular deliveries since the holidays, creating what she calls widespread concern.
According to WSJM, Huizenga says some problems appear tied to backlogs from the COVID era and is urging the Postal Service to restore dependable service.
