State Rep. Wendy McNamara’s (R-Evansville) House Bill 1116 is heading to the Governor’s desk to completely ban cryptocurrency kiosks in Indiana.
Found in grocery stores and gas stations, these machines have become a primary tool for scammers to trick seniors and vulnerable residents into “depositing” their life savings.
The bill follows an FBI report showing $246 million lost to such scams in 2024.
If signed, the Indiana Attorney General would be authorized to take action against any violators of the ban.
