An Elkhart man has been sentenced after pleading guilty in a drug dealing case.

45-year-old Joshua Brown received a 20-year sentence after being convicted of conspiracy to deal in a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

Eight years of the sentence were suspended to probation, while several years will be served through Elkhart County Community Corrections, with a recommendation of home detention.

Police say a search warrant at a property in the 700 block of Harrison Street uncovered synthetic marijuana, more than 300 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, firearms and about 9,200 dollars in cash.

The Goshen News says several other charges were dismissed under Brown’s plea agreement.
