Woman found dead in South Bend parking lot; one person in custody

Authorities are investigating a death reported on the city’s north side.
South Bend Police were called around 7:35 p.m. on Wednedday, April 1, to a business in the 3600 block of Edison Road for a report of a woman found unresponsive in a parking lot. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The St. Joseph County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (FACT) was notified and took over the investigation.
Police say a suspect vehicle was identified and located, and one person is now in custody. No additional details about the suspect have been released.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
The investigation remains ongoing.
