Mishawaka man sentenced for stealing nearly $190 thousand from employer

A Mishawaka man was sentenced to five years after admitting he stole nearly $190,000 from his employer.
Jacob Borke, 38, pleaded guilty in Elkhart County to two felony theft charges. Investigators say Borke took the money over a 12-year period while working for Pro Custom Inc.
The theft came to light during an audit.
Borke told police he was dealing with financial struggles.
Authorities say the stolen money was spent on things like car expenses, various household and personal items, and porn.
He’s been sentenced to five years, including one year in prison, one year on probation, and three years in community corrections.

First, how does 12 yrs go by without a business noticing that much money gone? Second, the porn likely caused the financial “struggles”. Third, 1 year jail and 1 yr probation, and 3 community corrections for $190k and 12 yrs of theft? Quite the attorney work there. Probably another genius plea bargain.
