SHIPSHEWANA, Ind. – The Shipshewana Trading Place is kicking off its 2026 flea market season with new family-friendly additions and expanded special events.
The Shipshewana Flea Market officially opens Tuesday, May 5, and will operate every Tuesday and Wednesday through September 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.
Organizers say the market features more than 600 vendor spaces spread across 40 acres, making it the largest flea market in the Midwest. Visitors can expect a wide range of items, including antiques, collectibles, home goods, clothing, and handmade products.
Flea Market Director Javan Brubacher says the goal each year is to give visitors more reasons to make the trip.
Alongside the flea market, the weekly Shipshewana Antique & Miscellaneous Auction continues every Wednesday year-round, featuring multiple auctioneers selling antiques, furniture, glassware, and collectibles.
New this year, organizers are introducing themed weekend markets scheduled for June 19-20 and July 31 through August 1. Those events will include additional activities, giveaways, and family-focused entertainment.
A new family green space has also been added near the food truck area, featuring playground equipment to give children a place to play while families relax.
The market is also expanding group experiences on Wednesdays for parties of 12 or more. Activities include guided auction experiences and vendor-based shopping challenges.
Additional highlights for the 2026 season include giveaways such as “Market Cash,” overnight stays at the Farmstead Inn & Conference Center, and appearances by the market’s mascot.
Holiday markets are also scheduled, including the Memorial Day Market from May 25-27 and the Labor Day Market from September 7-9.
