Construction is officially underway on a major makeover at Kennedy Park in South Bend.
City leaders broke ground on the 18-million-dollar project that includes a new aquatics center, upgraded courts, playground improvements, new shelters, lighting, walking paths, and more.
Mayor James Mueller says the investment will help create a more vibrant gathering space for families and neighborhoods.
The project is expected to wrap up in July of next year.
