45 years after a Mishawaka man was killed, two suspects are now facing trial in the cold case murder.

71-year-old Daniel Martin of Elkhart and 76-year-old Robert Sage of Florida are accused in the 1981 killing of Donald Wasserman.

Investigators say Wasserman disappeared after meeting Sage, and his body was later found near the Indiana Toll Road in Elkhart County.

Court documents say Martin recently admitted he helped Sage attack and dispose of the victim after a dispute over drug money.

The Goshen News says Martin’s jury trial is still scheduled to begin July 6, while Sage remains jailed in Florida awaiting extradition.
