Niles man killed after colliding with a deer

A Michigan man is dead after a motorcycle crash involving a deer.

Police say it happened just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, on M-60 near Lilac Avenue in Howard Township.

Investigators say 28-year-old Jesse Maurer of Niles was riding north on M-60 when a deer struck the side of his motorcycle.

Maurer lost control, went off the road and crashed into a culvert.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
