Mishawaka residents to see increase in water bills

Mishawaka residents will see an increase in their water bills.
The Mishawaka Common Council has approved a plan that would raise water rates over the next five years to help pay for upgrades at the aging Virgil Street Water Treatment Plant.
Officials say the nearly 60-year-old plant needs major repairs to avoid future problems and keep clean water flowing to residents.
The average bill would increase about two dollars this year, with similar increases continuing annually.
