The jury trial for a man accused of causing a serious drunk driving crash and fleeing the scene has been postponed.

22-year-old Brett Smith faces charges after a November crash in Elkhart that seriously injured three people.

Investigators say Smith had a blood alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit and was driving more than twice the posted speed limit before the crash.

According to The Goshen News, court records indicate Smith later admitted involvement.

His jury trial has been rescheduled for October 19.
