Two men accused in a 1981 Elkhart County cold case murder have now both appeared in court.

75-year-old Robert Sage was recently extradited from Florida, while 71-year-old Daniel Martin has been in custody since March.

Investigators say the pair killed Mishawaka resident Donald Wasserman in August of 1981 over a drug debt.

The Goshen News says Martin has reportedly confessed to helping carry out the murder. Both men face charges carrying penalties under 1981 sentencing guidelines.

Jury trials are scheduled for October 19.
