A pair of wandering cows caused a bit of excitement in St. Joseph County on Sunday morning, Aug. 2.

Deputies say the animals were first spotted blocking the road near Portage and Adams before running off into a nearby neighborhood.

A Good Samaritan helped corral the cows into a fenced yard on Persimmon Drive while the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Posse brought trailers to transport them. Police later announced the owner was located and the “stakeout” was officially over.
