Governor Mike Braun has extended Indiana’s gas tax holiday through Oct. 6.

The suspension covers both the state gasoline usage tax and gasoline excise tax in all 92 counties. Braun says the move is aimed at keeping fuel costs lower for Hoosier families.

The governor says state reserves will be used to replace lost revenue and keep road and infrastructure projects moving without interruption. Braun’s office says the tax suspensions are part of an energy emergency that began Aug. 7 and will be reviewed again in 30 days.
