A new Elkhart County giving circle for men will hold its first meeting next week.

Guys Who Give Elkhart County was started by Jeff Boomershine and Curt Yoder and is being hosted by the Community Foundation of Elkhart County.

The group’s first meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at Maplecrest Country Club in Goshen. Meetings will be held twice a year, on the first Tuesday of October and May.

Members commit to contributing $500 at each meeting, or $1,000 annually. Members can nominate local nonprofit organizations, and three nominees will be selected at random to make presentations during each meeting.

Those attending will vote, and the nonprofit receiving the most votes will receive the money raised that night.

The concept follows the local 100 Women Who Care giving circle, which has awarded nearly $500,000 to nonprofits since 2015.

Men with ties to Elkhart County can join without an invitation. More information is available through the Community Foundation of Elkhart County.
