A St. Joseph County jury has convicted 27-year-old Delvaughn Moore in the 2024 killing of Joyce Montague.
Police found Montague dead inside her South High Street apartment after welfare-check calls.
Investigators said she had been strangled and suffered blunt-force injuries.
Prosecutors said surveillance video, cellphone records and other evidence connected Moore to the case.
The four-day trial ended with just one hour of jury deliberations.
Moore is scheduled to be sentenced November 5 and faces up to 65 years in prison.
