South Bend residents will have an opportunity to learn about lead safety and access local resources during a weeklong outreach event at City Hall.
The city’s Lead Protection Program will host Lead Safety Resource Week October 26–30 in recognition of National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily in the City Hall lobby.
Residents can learn about lead safety, obtain information about testing, explore available assistance programs and receive help completing application requirements for the city’s Lead Protection Program.
The event will also feature information about initiatives offered by the St. Joseph County Health Department and the University of Notre Dame’s Lead Innovation Team.
Organizers say the event will provide a central location for lead education, testing information, program resources and application assistance.
The event is free and open to the public. No appointment is required.
