One person died and another was seriously injured after a rollover crash in St. Joseph County.

Police say a vehicle left McKinley Highway near Birch Road around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, and struck a power pole.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger was taken to a hospital and remains in serious condition. Speed is believed to have been a factor.

Traffic was still restricted more than 12 hours later as utility crews worked at the scene.
