EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Authorities have arrested one Evansville man and issued an arrest warrant for another after the death of a dog that was dragged for more than 5 miles behind a pickup truck.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says a warrant for a 24-year-old man allegedly driving the truck charges him with four counts of animal cruelty and two other counts.

A probable cause affidavit says that when a female motorist cut off the truck Tuesday, the man threatened her, untied the carcass of the Great Dane mix named Hank from a bumper and drove off. She photographed the truck’s license plate and the driver’s arm with a distinctive tattoo.

A second man who allegedly tethered the dog to the bumper is jailed on a charge of torturing or mutilating an animal.
