The best tasting water in Indiana could soon be bottled and sold in stores

CONNERSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — An economic development group is looking into trying to sell the eastern Indiana’s city of Connersville’s tap water in bottles.

The Alliance of Indiana Rural Water recently named Connersville as having the best tasting water in Indiana, an award the city also won in 2010 and 2012. Connersville Economic Development Group director Dan Parker tells the Connersville News-Examiner several municipalities nationwide are selling their tap water and he doesn’t know why Connersville can’t do something similar.

Parker says he’s ready to make some sort of move for the city to package the water and try to sell it or see if some company would be willing to do so. Parker said the proposal to sell the tap water needs further study, such as researching possible partnerships.
