EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Ivy Tech Corporate College has announced a new program in Evansville aimed at getting more truck drivers on the road.

The four-week, 160-hour program will take place at Ivy Tech Corporate College in Evansville, with the first session on Monday. The Evansville Courier & Press reports Ivy Tech Chancellor Jonathan Weinzapfel said at a news conference Wednesday that truck driving is No. 3 on the Hoosier Hot 50 Jobs list. The program is a partnership with Lake Cumberland Commercial Driver’s License Training School.

Weinzapfel says employers are telling the school they are having a hard time finding truck drivers.

Sessions are every two weeks and tuition is $4,000.
