Elections 2016: Which Republicans and Democrats have the most delegates?

The official 2016 presidential nominations for the Democratic and Republican parties haven’t been decided yet, but one way to gauge the races is the delegate count.

In order to secure the GOP nomination, a candidate must receive 1237 delegates out of a possible 2340. The Democratic nomination, however, can only be guaranteed by receiving 2383 delegates out of a possible 4132.

Delegates are awarded during primary races. About 1,451 delegates altogether are up for grabs on Super Tuesday, March 1.
