Paid parking has wrapped up for the season in downtown St. Joseph.

The city’s renewed parking program ended at 6 p.m. on Labor Day. A similar system was introduced last summer but was quickly dropped after community pushback and concerns about access for people with disabilities.

This year’s version followed additional public input. Some downtown business owners say it has helped create more open spaces and improve parking turnover. City construction projects planned for the next two years could create new parking challenges.
