South Bend shooting victim died of a gunshot wound, coroner says

An autopsy performed on the man shot at Indian Springs Apartments over the weekend confirmed he died of a gunshot wound.

The coroner also determined that 34-year-old Gary Williams Jr.’s manner of death was a homicide, the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Investigators are still searching for 21-year-old Nelson Cotton Jr., who is wanted as a potential suspect in the shooting.
