Wind advisory in Michiana leads to Indiana Toll Road ban for some semis

The Indiana Toll Road is banning certain semis from the roadway on Friday, Feb. 19, as high winds are expected to blow through the area.

Triple trailers, long double trailers and high profile oversize permit loads are banned from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. between mile marker 24 in Portage and mile marker 144 in Angola, Indiana Toll Road officials said.

Southwest winds are expected to reach speeds of 30 mph with gusts between 45 and 50 mph on Friday. The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory in effect from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday for the entire 95.3 MNC listening area.
