South Bend Cubs to arrive at Four Winds Field late Monday after flight from Arizona cancelled

SOUTH BEND — A planned welcoming event and parade for the South Bend Cubs set for Monday night, April 6, was cancelled after the team’s flight from Arizona to Chicago was cancelled.

The players will catch a later flight to O’Hare International Airport and arrive at Four Winds Field between 9:30 and 10 p.m., according to a news release from the South Bend Cubs. Fans are welcome to greet the team at the field.

“We’re not asking fans to come out this late,” Joe Hart, president of the team, said. “We just want them to know that the team will not be arriving at the airport as previously planned. They do want to see the stadium as soon as they get here. So, their first stop in South Bend will be Four Winds Field later on tonight. Anyone who still wants to come out is certainly welcome.”
