A body has been found in the woods near the home of two children who went missing Monday in Fort Wayne, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, as reported by 95.3 MNC’s news partners at ABC 57.

The body was found less than a half-mile east of the home along U.S. 33 in Fort Wayne where the children lived.

Deputies found the body at 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, while searching the area.

The body is that of an older man, according to sheriff’s deputies.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning.

The children,  Liliana Hernandez, 7, and six-year-old Rene Pasztor, 6, were the subject of an Amber Alert on Monday. They were found dead inside a vehicle at the Elkhart Police Department on Monday evening. Their mother, Amber Pasztor, 29, was arrested a few hours after she approached an officer outside of the police department and told him the children were dead in the backseat of the car.

Police say their bodies were found in the car that matched the description of the car in the Amber Alert.

On Monday night, police declined to say who the children were living with when they were abducted or why she may have taken them.
