The children, Liliana Hernandez, 7, and six-year-old Rene Pasztor, 6, were the subject of an Amber Alert on Monday. They were found dead inside a vehicle at the Elkhart Police Department on Monday evening. Their mother, Amber Pasztor, 29, was arrested a few hours after she approached an officer outside of the police department and told him the children were dead in the backseat of the car.
Police say their bodies were found in the car that matched the description of the car in the Amber Alert.
On Monday night, police declined to say who the children were living with when they were abducted or why she may have taken them.
