CrimeStoppers offering reward for information on suspect in Niles shooting

Michiana CrimeStoppers is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of a man suspected of shooting a woman in Niles, Mich.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department was called at about 5 p.m. March 22 to the 2600 block of N. Fifth Street in Niles, where they found a 24-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. The woman underwent surgery and survived the shooting.

Witnesses told police that the suspect — later identified as Michael Jerome Exom III — ran from the scene. Police are still searching for him.

CrimeStoppers is offering up to $1,000 to individuals who provide anonymous information about Exom’s whereabouts. Anyone with information may submit tips anonymously on the CrimeStoppers website, through their Facebook page, using the free Tip Submit smartphone app or by calling them toll free at 800-342-STOP.

Tipsters are given a code number, which is also used when individuals claim their rewards.
