Indiana man arrested; allegedly burned, bit girlfriend

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — A Muncie man faces battery and criminal confinement charges for allegedly biting and burning his girlfriend during a series of attacks spanning three months.

Twenty-one-year-old Eric Harrold Vorhees was arrested Friday on preliminary charges of criminal confinement, battery resulting in bodily injury, domestic battery and public intoxication. He remained jailed Tuesday on a $13,500 bond.

The Star Press reports officers discovered the injuries on Vorhees’ girlfriend when she sought police help in retrieving a credit card from their apartment.

The woman had an open wound on her neck that she said Vorhees had inflicted with a lit cigarette, an arm bruise with teeth marks and other bruises. She told officers Vorhees had been abusing her daily since they moved from Colorado to Muncie about three months ago.
