SB 150: Celebrate South Bend's birthday with Ben Folds, St. Joe River lights, fireworks, food and more

The city of South Bend is celebrating its 150th birthday this year — and you’re invited to the giant party downtown over Memorial Day weekend.

Festivities kick off with an opening ceremony Friday night, May 22. The event is open to the public and includes an address from South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, a performance by the South Bend Community Choir and the lighting of the St. Joseph River.

Other activities planned on Friday, Saturday and Sunday include a concert of Ben Folds and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, the Taste of South Bend, fireworks shows and more. Many of the events and activities are free, though some require paid tickets.
