Late rally gives Blackhawks win in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The Stanley Cup Finals opened in Tampa with the Chicago Blackhawks exploding with a couple of late goals in a 2-1 victory over the Lightning.

The Blackhawks trailed until Teuvo Teravainen scored with 6:32 left. Then Antoine Vermette scored the game-winner with 4:34 left.

Alex Killorn scored on Tampa Bay’s fifth shot of the game, and Ben Bishop made that stand up until the Blackhawks exploded late. Corey Crawford made 22 saves between the pipes for the Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks are trying for their third Stanley Cup title in the last six years.

Game 2 is Saturday night in Tampa.
