Freddie Rhodes and Deante Dalton were found guilty of felony murder on Monday, June 22, after both defense attorneys decided not to call any witnesses, as reported by 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners The Elkhart Truth.

The trial began Monday, June 15, and the prosecution spent Wednesday through Friday last week building its case against the two teens until the prosecution rested its case.

Rhodes and Dalton were charged with felony murder in the death of Dre Tarrious Rogers. Rhodes, Dalton, and Rogers were co-conspirators in a plan to steal drugs and money from a man they know, according to court documents. During the robbery, Rogers was shot several times and died in the home.

Indiana’s felony murder law allows individuals to be charged with murder if someone dies while a felony is being committed, such as a robbery.
