Free cats and kittens available for adoption at the Humane Society of St. Joseph County on Saturday

Looking for a new furry four-legged friend? The Humane Society of St. Joseph County has several dogs, cats, birds and other animals looking for a forever home.

This week, the Humane Society is featuring all of its adoptable cats as the Pets of the Week.

All cat adoption fees will be waived and cats will be available for same-day adoption from noon to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, for the Cat-tastic Free Cat Adoption Event. New owners will need to fill out an adoption application that day, pick out a cat, bring or buy a carrier and obtain a pet license.

The Humane Society has more than 125 available cats and kittens in their adoption center looking for their homes.

ADOPTION CENTER INFORMATION

  • Noon to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday
  • Noon to 4 p.m. Sundays (May through September)

Adoptable cats and dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped and current on appropriate vaccinations and tests. Not all pocket pets are spayed, neutered, microchipped or vaccinated.

For more information on pet adoptions, including fees and to see more available animals, visit the Humane Society of St. Joseph County’s website or call the Humane Society at 574-255-4726.
