Indiana health officials release free injury prevention app for Android, Apple devices

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — State health officials have released a new app that’s intended to link Indiana residents to resources that can help them prevent many common injuries.

The State Department of Health’s free app for Android and Apple systems features buttons for 10 common sources of injury, such as distracted driving, prescription drug overdoses and falls among older adults.

Each category includes a description of the scope of the problem in Indiana and the nation as a whole and discussions of how that problem is being addressed.

State Health Commissioner Dr. Jerome Adams says the new information prevention app “will put valuable information at Hoosiers’ fingertips.” He says it’s exciting to see how technology can help keep “Hoosiers safe and improve their health.”
