Shooting in Benton Harbor leaves one person dead

One person is dead after a shooting reported in Benton Harbor, Mich., on Friday morning, Dec. 11.

The shooting was reported at about 9 a.m. in the 1500 block of Milton Street near Napier Avenue, according to our news partners ABC 57.

The victim was an employee at Michiana Supply Company, WSBT reported.

Police want everyone in the Fair Plain and Union Park areas in Benton Harbor to stay inside with their doors locked, ABC 57’s Alexandra Koehn reported. Police are searching for the suspect. Some nearby businesses are on lockdown.

The suspect is described is a black man about 5 feet 7 inches tall wearing a white T-shirt.
