Howard Park Ice Rink temporarily closed because of warm weather

Temperatures will be so autumn-like this weekend that one popular winter activity won’t be possible.

Howard Park Ice Rink in South Bend is temporarily closed until further notice because of the warm weather, according to a news release from Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s office.

The warm temperatures are preventing the ice from completely freezing.

The forecasted high for Friday is 54 degrees and temperatures are expected to push 60 over the weekend, according to the weather team at ABC 57. High temperatures are expected to drop back into the 40s next week.
