Benton Harbor shooting sends 22-year-old man to hospital Monday night

Benton Harbor police are asking the public to come forward with information about a shooting reported on Hastings Avenue earlier this week.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Hastings at about 6:35 p.m. Monday night, Dec. 21, for a report of gunfire, according to a news release from the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety. They didn’t find a victim, but later a 22-year-old male arrived at Lakeland Hospital with gunshot sounds.

The man’s wounds weren’t life threatening. He has been “largely uncooperative” in the investigation, according to the news release.
