A judge rejected a plea deal for a 19-year-old man charged in connection to a party attended by the Savage brothers the night before they died.
Kyle Treber was charged in July with three counts of dealing in a narcotic drug and one count of possession of a narcotic drug.
He had agreed to plead guilty to to a felony charge of illegal possession of narcotics in exchange for a sentence of 2½ years on probation, but Judge Jane Woodward-Miller rejected the plea deal during a hearing on Wednesday, Jan. 20, WNDU reported.
Woodward-Miller told Treber that she did not make the decision lightly.
Because the plea deal was rejected, Treber’s original charges still stand.

Prosecutors said Treber brought OxyContin, a brand name for oxycodone, to a house party in Granger on July 13. He was found passed out in the home on July 14 and was revived.
Brothers Nick and Jack Savage, who were 19 and 18 respectively, were found dead in their home the same morning. They both attended the party. Coroners ruled they died from a mixture of alcohol and oxycodone.
