Crash on bypass near S.R. 23 in South Bend involves police officer

The eastbound lanes of the bypass near S.R. 23 is expected to be backed up for several hours after a multiple-vehicle crash involving a police officer, according to the South Bend Police Department.

The crash was reported at about 11:30 a.m. Injuries have been reported by multiple news agencies, but it’s not immediately clear how serious those injuries are.
