Wife of Kalamazoo shootings suspect files for divorce

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — The wife of the former Uber driver charged in the slayings of six people in southwestern Michigan has filed for divorce.

MLive.com reports Friday that Carole Dalton’s divorce filing in Kalamazoo County Circuit Court says “there has been a breakdown in the marriage relationship.”

The filing came after Saturday’s random shooting rampage.

Jason Dalton is jailed on six counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. Eight people were shot at three locations in the Kalamazoo area. Two survived.

Jason and Carole Dalton married in 1995 and have two children, ages 15 and 10. The newspaper reports that 45-year-old Jason Dalton earned $50,000 per year at an appraisal company. He also worked as an Uber driver and was transporting passengers the day of the mass shootings.
