Northwestern Indiana woman dies after tractor runs her over

GOODLAND, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say a northwestern Indiana woman has died after being run over by a tractor operated by her husband.

The Newton County Coroner’s Office said 65-year-old Marcia Siegle of Goodland suffered massive chest and pelvis injuries in the incident Thursday morning.

Investigators said it appears Siegle’s husband was reversing a tractor out of a garage when he accidentally backed over her. They said they believe the woman was clearing snow from her vehicle at the time and that her husband was unable to see her.

WLFI-TV reports the woman was pronounced dead at the scene about 35 miles northwest of Lafayette.
