Suspected intoxicated driver arrested 10 months after deadly crash near Edwardsburg

A man was arrested 10 months after police say he was involved in a deadly crash near Edwardsburg, Mich.

Brett Johnathan Gilpin, 25, is charged with operating while intoxicated causing death, operating while intoxicated and a moving violation causing death, according to the Ontwa Township-Edwardsburg Police Department.

Gilpin is suspected of causing a crash that killed a 77-year-old man May 15, 2015, on Garver Lake Road south of U.S. 12. Police say he left Michigan during their investigation, but the Fugitive Team found him March 17 in Michigan. 

He’s being held at Cass County Jail.
