Indian Springs Apartments shooting turns himself in to police

A man suspected in the deadly shooting at Indian Springs Apartments over the weekend turned himself into police Monday afternoon, April 11.

Nelson Cotton Jr., 21, went to police at about 5 p.m. Monday was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder, Sgt. Alex Arendt with St. Joseph County Metro Homicide said.

Cotton is suspected of shooting Gary Williams Jr. early Sunday morning, April 10. After the shooting, the vehicle Williams was in crashed into an apartment building. Nobody else was injured.
