A 28-year-old suspected heroin dealer arrested in South Bend is now charged with dealing a narcotic drug.

Ryan Daniels of South Bend is being held on $10,000 cash bond at St. Joseph County Jail, according to court documents.

Daniels was arrested at a home in the 4600 block of West Maywood Place in South Bend on Wednesday.

Officers with the St. Joseph County Drug Investigation Unit suspected that Daniels was dealing heroin and had a police informant buy the drug from him earlier this month. The informant told police that Daniels was putting guns into a black bag during the sale.

After the informant bought the drugs, police executed a search warrant at Daniels’ home on Monday and found four guns inside. Daniels saw police before the entered his home and drove off.

Investigators thought he was in Detroit, but found him Wednesday at the home on Maywood Place.

Daniels may face additional charges based on the evidence found during the investigation, the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Daniels could spend up to 12 years in prison if convicted of dealing a narcotic drug.
