Hope you’ve got your ketchup ready, because Wednesday is National French Fry Day.
The crunchy potato treat is celebrated every year on July 13.
Americans eat about 30 pounds of french fries every year, according to Fox News.
You can thank founding father Thomas Jefferson for bringing the food to America. During his presidency, Jefferson reportedly asked the White House cooks to prepare “potatoes, fried in the French manner.”
Here are a few places where you can score some free fries:
- Burger King: Order two Whopper meals (two Whoppers, two small drinks and two small fries) for $10 until July 15.
