WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump says on Twitter he is delaying running mate announcement due to truck attack in France.

The Donald J. Trump for President campaign issued the following statement shortly before 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 14:

“The event scheduled at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York, NY tomorrow, July 15th, 2016 is postponed with additional details to follow. There is no further information at this time.”

Despite the postponement of the announcement, Trump’s apparent pick, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, faces a 12 p.m. deadline on Friday to end his candidacy in the Indiana Gubernatorial race.
