A community is paying tribute to a murdered 2-year-old girl whose killer pleaded guilty last week.

A vigil for Serenity Wilson of Plymouth will take place at 6 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery, according to WSBT.

Serenity Wilson was beaten to death by the boyfriend of her mother last September for wetting the bed.

Shane Weedling pleaded guilty to the murder last week and is facing 65 years behind bars. Her mother, Krysti Lavanway, is in the process of appealing her 35 year neglect sentence.
